[Review] 《靈聼》Ghost on Air

I was invited for a movie preview of Ghost On Air on the 30th April, thanks to OMY and Merelion Pictures. Read the synopsis below to find out what Ghost On Air is about!

A Radio DJ driven to desperation, resorts to telling ghost stories on air, but what if the stories were all not fiction?

“Ping Xiao, a two time “Most Popular DJ” award winner, is suddenly robbed of his successful morning show slot. Jealous at seeing a younger DJ taking his place, he forces himself to conquer painful recurring memories of his deceased girlfriend and tells the ghost stories that was written by her on air. With each painful memory he endures, he regains a small step to his superstardom. However, as he is about to claim his reward, he begins to realize that the stories were not works of fiction, and maybe it wasn’t him telling the stories all along…”

It's quite unexpected to see Zhou Chong Qing as the main lead of a horror flick! I think he played his role really well. There was quite a bit of scares here and then coupled with the sound effects. There was a few times where I found myself wishing the scary scenes would end quickly because I was kind of freaked out. Well, I believe what makes a good horror movie is that it can instill fear in the audience. So horror wise, this movie is a success. I believe more elaboration could be done towards the ending of the movie though.

Q & A session with the Director! It was really great to hear from the director himself about how the movie was filmed, the challenges faced as well as the preparations required. Everything is hard work!

Watch the trailer here:

Watch this movie with your friends and families. Support local movies! I'd give a thumbs up to this movie because I genuinely find this movie a notch better than most other local horror movies that I have watched.
