[Review] Mentholatum Acnes Face Scrub‏

A couple of days ago, I received these in the mail: Acnes Daily Facial Scrub and Acnes Creamy Wash. Time to review it and find out if this product is good or not!

Acne is a common and troublesome problem among people, especially teenagers. A good facial soap is important to take care of your face and to prevent acne and pimples.

Acnes Creamy Wash
• Remove excess sebum and keeps your skin soft & moist! Mild an non irritating creamy wash for daily use to effectively prevent pimples!

Anti Bacterial: Contains isopropyl Methyphenol(o-Cymen-5-ol) which penetrates deep into pores to fight against bacteria and prevent pimples.

Soothing: Helps sooth redness and skin irritation caused by acne. Prevent aggravation of pimples.

Deep Cleansing: Helps unclogs pores and reduce blemishes by deep cleansing to remove dirt, oil, impurities and excess sebum.

Moisture Retention: Contains Vitamin C with moisture retention benefits, leaving your skin soft and moisturized after wash.

Anti-oxidation: Contains Vitamin E, an effective anti-oxidant, to keep the elasticity of your skin

the creamy wash

This wash smells mildly medicated. Texture is creamy and smooth. Simply squeeze out a small amount onto palm. Lather with water and massage gently onto face. It is rather gentle to my skin. I feel that my face is rather dry after using it though. This may be more suitable for people with oily skin.

Acnes Daily Facial Scrub.
This facial scrub contains green beads for deep cleansing and blue beads for a cooling effect.

Green beads:
-kills acne bacteria
-heals and prevents pimples
-deep cleanses down into your pores
-unclog blocked pores.
-does not aggravate the condition of dry or oily skin

Blue beads:
-gently massages your face
-Vitamin C and E help to reduce blemishes and redness
-lighten pimple scars

Hmm, does this really help?

New Acnes Daily Face Scrub

the micro beads

The texture is creamy and smooth. It doesn't feel rough on your face even though there were beads. This is gentle enough for sensitive skin. The cooling sensation is however too much to my liking. I felt that the effect was a tad strong for me. If you like such cooling effects, you'll love this.
Scent-wise, it smells something like mentho and I am okay with it. My skin is a combination of dry and oily and after wash, it got rid of the oiliness on my face yet doesn't feel dry.

In all, this product is worth trying.

The Acnes Daily Facial Scrub is retailing for $7.50 at Watsons, Guardian, pharmacies and supermarkets.
