[Review] Essential CC Oil & Night Care Milk Hair Treatment

I'm sure many of you ladies have used the brand Essential or have heard of the brand before. If you don't, Essential is actually a haircare brand from Japan. With a wide range of products, you can surely find at least one product that is suited to your hair condition - from the basic shampoo and conditioner to the intensive hair treatments.

Essential has recently relaunched its Leave On Treatment range and I will be reviewing two new products from this range - Essential CC Oil and Night Care Milk.

Even if your hair has not undergone any heat treatment, dyed, or permed, it is still susceptible to damage from external environmental factors.

Here are the 5 Hair Stresses:

1. Blow drying
The heat and friction from blow-drying your hair can leave it dry and brittle. If you already have dry hair, blow-drying will worsen it because it removes moisture from the hair.

2. Combing
When you comb your hair, there is friction to the hair cuticles, especially when your hair is wet (that's when your hair follicle is at its weakest). Combing through dry hair can cause breakage as well.

3. Split Ends
Always annoyed with your dry and brittle hair ends? That's because they are the oldest and driest parts of your hair! When you have split ends, it means that the protective hair cuticle has already been destroyed at the ends.

4. Hair Breakage
I have long hair and I will tie my hair into a ponytail when I am home because the weather is so hot. You know how sometimes when you take off the rubber band, you will find some hair strands tangled with it? That always happens to me unfortunately. Even the simple action of twirling your hair with your fingers can cause stress on your hair and lead to hair breakage.

5. Dryness
When your hair is being exposed to the sun, wind, or air-conditioning, it can result in hair dryness. This is almost impossible to avoid since we are constantly exposed to such elements. When the protective hair cuticle is weakened, it will not be able to retain moistuire within the cuticles of the hair.

Now that you are aware of the 5 hair stresses (if you don't already know), it is time to do something about them. After all, prevention is better than cure right?

To combat these 5 hair stresses, the Essential CC Oil is here to help protect your hair against these external environmental factors.

The CC stands for cuticle care. This product shares the same multi-functional concept that BB/CC cream has, which means the usage of this CC Oil can protect your hair from the 5 annoying hair stresses! It works by forming a protective coat around each hair strand.  The Cuticle Coat Protection leaves hair smooth and untangled. It also contains hair supplement oil, which is similar to the hair's natural oil.

Although this product has the word "oil" in it and it does look like oil when I pump it onto my palm, my hair and hands are surprisingly not greasy after application. Yay to non-greasy oil! Usually, such oil-based products will make my palms greasy but this isn't greasy at all! The CC Oil is also colourless with a mild floral scent.

Before application
  After application

Hair was not combed before and after application. Look at how much the hair has been tamed! Hair certainly looks and feels much more manageable, less frizzy, and smoother. It is also easier to finger comb through than before. Combing now becomes a less torturous chore since the hair is more manageable.

Apply this in the morning, and reapply any time you desire.

Essential Night Care Milk The Essential Night Milk Care protects your hair from pillow friction by leaving a protective coat around the hair strands. When I sleep, I will tend to toss and turn a lot and this simple action creates a lot of friction between my hair and pillow which can cause the hair cuticles to be misaligned. This results in frizzy hair, or the infamous bed hair the next morning, which happens to me very often. Because my hair can become so tangled, I do not have a habit of combing it since it feels so much like a tedious chore.

If you don't have a habit of washing and blow-drying your hair in the morning to tidy up your untamed hair, then this product will be ideal for you. Instead of rushing for work or school as a result of spending that extra time in the bathroom just for the sake of tidying your hair up, why not try a hassle-free method instead?

I really love the floral scent of this Night Care Milk. It has a very feminine smell, and yet not overpowering. It has the colour of milk, with a thicker consistency. The texture is rich, creamy and not greasy at all.
I now use this milk treatment before I go to bed and my hair is so much more tamable as compared to when I did not apply anything at all. After application, my hair looks and feels smoother, less frizzy, and certainly more manageable. I can simply finger comb it which is so convenient for someone like me who doesn't like to comb my hair because it tends to get tangled easily. Overall, my hair also feels and looks more moisturized with a healthier appearance.

Apply on damp or dry hair before going to bed. For me, 2 pumps are sufficient.
